                  LIGHTHOUSES OF THE OREGON COAST

If you are a lighthouse buff, there are several on the Oregon coast that have been restored and some are open for tours. Click on a lighthouse button for more information about that lighthouse.

Tillamook Rock lighthouse is located off shore from Ecola State Park. It is not open to the public.

Cape Meares light tower is nine miles west of Tillamook and is open to the public.

Yaquina Head lighthouse is a tall impresive beacon just three miles north of Newport and is open for tours.

Yaquina Bay lighthouse is at the north end of the Newport bridge by the South Beach State Park and is open to the public.

The most photographed lighthouse has to be the Heceta Head  lighthouse at the Devil's Elbow State Park, 5 miles north of Florence on Highway 101.

Umpqua River lighthouse is the sister lighthouse to Heceta Head and tours begin at the Coast Guard Museum  next to the tower and the Whale watching station.

The Cape Arago light is not open to the public. The lighthouse is on an island three miles west of  Coos Bay and can be seen from a trail from Sunset Beach.

Coquille River lighthouse can be accessed via Bullards Beach State Park two miles north of Bandon.

Cape Blanco lighthouse is part of Cape Blanco State Park and can be viewed from the park and is open to the public.

If you travel along Highway 101 then watch for the areas mentioned above and search out these sentinels that have guided our sailors along the oregon coast for over 150 years.
