KAPTN KEN            Yaquina Head                   Lighthouse 

                    Oregon

  This Lighthouse is situated in an outstanding Natural Area and Day Use Park three miles north of of the Newport Bridge on Highway 101. The lighthouse is open to the puplic and there is a new Visitors Center there. A  fee is charged.

Jutting into the Pacific Ocean, Yaquina Head is battered and scoured by waves, wind and rain and it is on this site that the structure was built in 1873.
